Episode 213 – Guests Yasmine Mohammed and Armin Navabi

Two ex-Muslims join us for this episode. Iranian-born Armin Navabi is the founder of the Atheist Republic (http://www NULL.atheistrepublic NULL.com/), and author of “Why There Is No God”. Yasmine Mohammed has penned her own memoirs titled “From Al Qaeda to Atheism”, and writes the blog “Confessions of an Ex-Muslim (http://www NULL.confessionsofanexmuslim NULL.com/)“. Both are voices behind the Secular Jihadists podcast, along with Ali Rizvi and Faisal Saeed Al Mutar. Hopefully we can cover a few topics, including radicalization (and I have a hypothesis on who is most vulnerable that I’d like to run by our guests), Linda Sarsour and CAIR, the fetishization of tools of oppression (the hijab in particular) and the popularizing of so-called “modesty fashion”.

A shameless skeptic with no patience for foolish nonsense and relishes nothing more than busting balloons filled with hot air. And, yes. I'm an atheist, for the same reason that I am a-homeopathic, a-chiropractic, a-reiki, etc. Atheism is a conclusion of modern skepticism applied to religious claims every bit as much as I don't buy into the Bigfoot myth. You want me to accept your claim? Show mete evidence, and it had best be better than the typical "Oh, but the evidence is all around you!" That gets no traction with me. But that doesn't mean my mind can't be changed. I'm no contrarian. I just happen to have more respect for myself than to fall for arguments like "You can't prove it isn't true!"
