Episode 205 – Potpourri with guest co-host Shane Plesiuk

Long-time friend Shane Plesiuk joins us to talk about religion and atheism in Calgary’s gay community and share his thoughts on a number of stories in this episode of the Legion of Reason Diversion, including:

  • the despicable witch hunt of Bret Weinstein at so-called progressive Evergreen State College;
  • faux pas by comedienne Kathy Griffin and comedian Bill Maher;
  • Islamic apologist Linda Sarsour speaks at the commencement ceremony at CUNY;
  • Denmark abolishes its blasphemy law (ahem, Justin Trudeau…);
  • things women put in their vaginas;
  • and we finish with some thoughts on the London terror attacks.

Episode 166 – Potpourri episode

Welcome to the Legion of Reason Diversion, podcasting a critical eye on a sometimes less than critical world! In this, the 166th edition we see the greatest scientific minds in Canada tasked with answering one of the great questions of our time: Is broom technology destroying the game of curling? Who says blue-sky research isn’t useful? Catholic constitutional lawyers say the darnedest things! They’re so cute! And from the Regressive Left Files we have not one, but TWO portfolio folders. In the first we find Milo Yiannopoulos yet again at the center of controversy, this time at DePaul University in Chicago where Black Lives Matter protesters disrupt his talk as an invited speaker. The second contains the results of a recent poll on how students think speech that offends them should be dealt with. But before we get to those titillating topics, it’s convention season and we have to talk about Imagine No Religion in Vancouver last weekend and the American Humanist Association’s meeting in Chicago.
